Hey, Look!

Look who's back?! Yes, it's been quite some time since I've posted here, and I do apologize for the almost 9 month hiatus. Life is unpredictable as they say, and boy is that true. Many changes have come about, but never did I completely forget about my dear Grey Chiffon. With that, here are a few looks that have me inspired these days. From matchy-match to edgy to ethnic, there's something for everyone in this post. Look out for more Grey Chiffon soon - and leave me a comment or two!

edgy lace - jason wu fall 2011

who doesn't love lace? it's a beautiful fabric. and so much can be done with it...it can dyed to cool, striking colors...layered ontop of heavier fabrics for a whole 'nother dimension....dazzled up with intricate beading and sequin work...it's manipulations are endless. lace has a unique, specific look, but can be used in so many different ways. and one way that i really like it, is when it's edgy and dark. a far cry from how we usually love the fabric, in all its romantic-lovely-airy-glory, edgy lace is bold and powerful. i think jason wu presented that idea wonderfully in his fall 2011 rtw collection.

holiday dressing - red

the holidays are, of course, bright and festive, so nothing beats a happy & merry red dress during these times. and when the jolly ol' hue is teamed with lace or an interesting shape...it is sure to be a gleeful knock-out.

red & blue

it's fierce combo (similar to red and purple) but while red and purple gives a va-va-vixen vibe being that they are both feminine colors...the contrast of red and blue is a bit more edgy and powerful. the sensual-ness of red is hit hard with the masculinity of dark blue, producing a very sexy result. i think it's great -- especially in interior design. i'd feel divine lounging in a room like the one above (located at the gramercy park hotel in nyc.)

purple & red -- a combination of hues rarely seen together as they both represent strength, boldness, vivacity, and immense spirit...but when paired as one in the right way, balance can be found, and the end result is strikingly beautiful...
