Wrist Style

Let's talk about some delicious arm candy today! I'm not much of an arm candy gal - I just wear my watch and wedding band on a daily basis, and that's about it. But I do love the way some girls layer on pieces together and make it look so very fabulous. I have a few bracelets/threads that are meaningful to me - perhaps I'll throw all of them on together and go for this look too. Here are a few photos for inspiration. But do tell - what's your wrist style?

P.S. - It's really easy to get this look. Start with a great watch like the Michael Kors "Camille Chronograph" watch in two-tone. Two-tone is rocks because it matches with both your yellow gold and white gold/silver pieces. Win-win! Then, it's bracelet time. Think about what symbols or phrases mean most to you. Many go for the Evil Eye or Hamsa symbol, or perhaps the Infinity sign. If nothing speaks out to you, go for a classic link bracelet - it's timeless and can be passed down. Another idea is making your own bracelets! Make some with your girlfriends for DIY goodness.

Hey, Look!

Look who's back?! Yes, it's been quite some time since I've posted here, and I do apologize for the almost 9 month hiatus. Life is unpredictable as they say, and boy is that true. Many changes have come about, but never did I completely forget about my dear Grey Chiffon. With that, here are a few looks that have me inspired these days. though not a fan of this particular design, it is a treat to see yet another designer take inspiration from india. these heels, named "devidas," certainly do represent indian style with the intricate embroidery pattern and  embellishments.

emeralds

looks like emeralds (or costume emeralds in this case) are here to stay -- from angelina's memorable oscar appearance in a black gown and huge green knockers, to this blinged-out set on model bianca balti, emeralds are definitely show-stopping jewels.

this photo of balti is from the 2011 cannes film festival happening right now. can't wait to see more pictures from the festival. and don't think i forgot about the met gala that just recently happened! i'll post favorites from that event shortly as well. apologies for the lack of updating!

long skirt trend

i've been seeing this trend here and there, and i must say, i'm liking it a lot! i haven't seen long skirts done in the winter for a very long time, so it's a revival of sorts...but in a fun and modern way. it's most appealing to me when done monochromatically, as michael kors did in his fall 2010 rtw show. tone on tone with a cool, easy, hip-slung belt and you've got a look that's incredibly chic.

how amazing does bollywood actress sonam kapoor look in this grecian style dress? the jewelry, however, is what really makes her stand out...it's so cool the way she has paired those gorgeous kundan necklaces together to create such a unique and stylish look.

georgina chapman, town and country march 2009

i've always been slightly obsessed with the immense beauty and style of the stunning georgina chapman, co-designer of marchesa. chapman creates hollywood's most sought-after gowns (which i've written about both here and here on this blog).

this town and country editorial is one of the most stunning i've seen -- playing the role of an fairy tale princess in her own dream-like gowns, chapman's grandeur is unmatchable.
