just noticed a new section on 1stdibs.com for antique dealers in washington, d.c.

according to a report on washingtonpost.com, 1st dibs was scheduled to list the area’s dealers and their items this month. judging by the remarkable selection that is already online, i’m certain many of the pieces will be sold soon.

although the prices are steep, the range and brilliance of the aged beauties is outstanding. from a fine and rare 18th century mirror to a pair of abstract sculptural lamps, the d.c. selection on 1stdibs.com is extraordinary.

pretty/tough

lately i've been very drawn towards nailhead trim chairs. perhaps it’s due to the studded trend being seen on everything from tailored blazers to gladiator sandals to hobo bags. The nailhead trim adds a unique and tough look to otherwise dainty and delicately designed arm chairs, giving it that ultra-desired pretty slash tough look we all love.

i am in love with these interiors featured on desire to inspire today. designed by greg natale, these rooms/spaces are works of art. the colors, the patterns, the beautiful flourishes…i could go on and on. i love that it’s glamorous and elegant with some very daring twists -- like the loud, graphic black & white rug or the unexpected pops of red in the pillows and chairs. it’s not something i would normally lean towards -- i prefer a more traditional look with a few eclectic finishes - but i couldn’t take my eyes off of it. it’s bold and it’s out there, and again, i love it.
