a day-dreaming spot
this is such a sweet corner -- and it's made all the more lovely with those flowers and that yummy diptyque candle. i'd love a wonderful little nook like this to work in!

something mirrored
i knew when i started to decorate my place that i had to have mirrored furniture somewhere or another. it's just so fancy! mirrored pieces really add such élan to any room, while also adding great light and the illusion of more space. and did i mention that it's super glam? there's lots of styles to choose from out there -- from antique to sleek -- but either way, something mirrored will definitely posh up your space.

red & blue
it's fierce combo (similar to red and purple) but while red and purple gives a va-va-vixen vibe being that they are both feminine colors...the contrast of red and blue is a bit more edgy and powerful. the sensual-ness of red is hit hard with the masculinity of dark blue, producing a very sexy result. i think it's great -- especially in interior design. i'd feel divine lounging in a room like the one above (located at the gramercy park hotel in nyc.)

pink inspiration
i normally hate the color pink -- not sure why, but it just doesn't do anything for me. lately, however, i've been oddly drawn to images loaded with the candy-floss hue. i've found myself saving those images to go back to for style (whether it's personal or home) inspiration. above are a few of those images!
pink also represents breast cancer awareness, and october is breast cancer awareness month. if you'd like to make a donation, please visit the susan g. komen for the cure website.

lattice - home style
not too long ago, i wrote about how fun decorating a new house can be. well that fun hasn't stopped yet because i'm still looking for all the perfect pieces to make the house a home.
there's so much out there to choose from, but certain home elements really catch my eye, and one of those is lattice patterns. lattice is super fun and easy to incorporate anywhere.
what i love is that the bold, geometric lines of this print against a monotone background looks so very sharp and stylish. with all the curved lines and shapes of say a tufted sofa, a crystal chandelier, or a cozy flowing throw....the tailored and distinct pattern of lattice really brings a room together with its sharp contrast. whether its visible in a rug, a pillow, a table, or even a wallpaper...you've gotta have lattice.

charmed, i'm sure
shopping for new home pieces has turned out to be quite a fun task, especially when coming across the wonderfully-whimsical world of fornasetti design. absolutely adore the quirky charm of each unique plate, vase, and pillow i've come across. now, what won't be such a fun task is trying to decide which piece to buy...i want them all, of course

gorgeous curves
loved the design and look of this chaise – it’d make the perfect, luxurious addition to any contemporary living space. from ruby living design -
"Ah, the romance of it. A finely designed armless chaise version of a tufted library chair. It's all about the curves: top rolls, back legs arch, silhouette undulates. Flowing one-piece tufted seat and back. Ideal for showing off the rich tonal qualities of leather."

power couple
purple & red -- a combination of hues rarely seen together as they both represent strength, boldness, vivacity, and immense spirit...but when paired as one in the right way, balance can be found, and the end result is strikingly beautiful...

mary mcfadden : goddesses
from washingtonpost.com –"michelle obama isn't the only one bringing fashion to washington. the national museum of women in the arts will showcase the works of fashion designer mary mcfadden, who has more than 100 collections to her name. the exhibition explores the inspiration mcfadden drew from a slew of ancient cultures, including greece, dynastic china and africa. (march 20-aug. 30)"
extremely thrilled to view this exhibition, as mcfadden's works are described to be a true collaboration of style and culture – giving credibility to the term “fashion is art.”

love affair
i love pretty fonts. i used to doodle with text all day in class when i was younger, trying to dot my “i’s” in fancy ways or make my “y’s” curve down in the most beautiful fashion. so as you can imagine, viewing different typefaces online is a real hobby of mine. veer.com is a great place for this, with billions of typefaces to browse through. my current favorite on their site is a font called ”affair,” which veer.com describes as, “affair. it’s an event and you’re invited. affair is an extraordinary new calligraphic typeface by alejandro paul with a party full of swash characters, ligatures, and ornaments.” lovely! source: veer

greg natale interiors

i am in love with these interiors featured on desire to inspire today. designed by greg natale, these rooms/spaces are works of art. the colors, the patterns, the beautiful flourishes…i could go on and on. i love that it’s glamorous and elegant with some very daring twists -- like the loud, graphic black & white rug or the unexpected pops of red in the pillows and chairs. it’s not something i would normally lean towards -- i prefer a more traditional look with a few eclectic finishes - but i couldn’t take my eyes off of it. it’s bold and it’s out there, and again, i love it.source: desire to inspire

regal interiors

italian interiors designer roberto vertura makes the most unique and attention grabbing furniture i’ve seen. with rich, bright colors, interesting shapes, and black and gold detailing, vertura’s lavish designs are nothing short of royal.source: trendir
