a glamorous space

it's not the most liveable or functional or cozy of spaces....but my oh my is it glamorous!! love all the little details and the rock 'n' roll vibe. the ubious amounts of black, pinched with strong yet feminine hot pink, is to die for. that casually sexy bedroom isn't bad either. and that bathtub?... i could go on and on.

naeem khan resort 2012

this is such a pretty collection. i'd love to wear any of these dresses. there is something great to be said about each and every one of his pieces -- from the sexy senorita top/ruffled skirt combo, to the fully beaded & fully glam long sleeved ivory gown, to the bright hues of blue, pink and yellow he used, to feathers!, and finally to the all-out-ball-gown-style-oomph -- each dress was statement-making.

grandior

these vivid, sumptuous looks from dior are divine -- and thank goodness for some opulence -- getting tired of seeing all the minimalism as of late.

while a simplistic style can be just as striking, especially in real life, sometimes grandand over-the-top looks are what we need to give us a pop of energy and fun in fashion again.

the intense colors, intricate embroidery, exaggerated makeup, and extravagant jewelry of the show is all so exciting to see.

georgina chapman, town and country march 2009

i've always been slightly obsessed with the immense beauty and style of the stunning georgina chapman, co-designer of marchesa. chapman creates hollywood's most sought-after gowns (which i've written about both here and here on this blog).

this town and country editorial is one of the most stunning i've seen -- playing the role of an fairy tale princess in her own dream-like gowns, chapman's grandeur is unmatchable.

swapan & seema -- lakme india fashion week, autumn 2009

after browsing through most of the fall/winter 2009 collections presented at lakme india fashion week, i have to say that this was one of my favorites. from perfectly draped saris to sophisticated suits and lenghas, this collection was just so pretty. the rich & lovely shades of wine, the romantic lace details, and the sheer beauty of the fabrics were all very glamourous.

mary mcfadden : goddesses

from washingtonpost.com

"michelle obama isn't the only one bringing fashion to washington. the national museum of women in the arts will showcase the
works of fashion designer mary mcfadden, who has more than 100 collections to her name. the exhibition explores the inspiration mcfadden drew from a slew of ancient cultures, including greece, dynastic china and africa. (march 20-aug. 30)"

extremely thrilled to view this exhibition, as mcfadden's works are described to be a true collaboration of style and culture – giving credibility to the term “fashion is art.”
