lavender is such a pretty shade...it looks great in everything from gowns to rooms to beauty...it's soft and angelic (with a bit of spunk from its purple beginnings), and when done right, it's striking.

georgina chapman - 2011 oscars
ms. chapman was back in great form at the 2011 oscars this past sunday. i loved everything about her appearance this time (that's in comparison to her golden globes look, which i wrote about here.) it was a very couture-senorita look for me, complete with those lovely t-strap dancing shoes. the gown itself (marchesa, of course) was high- style, with the layers and ruffles of black gathered together at one side, asymmetrical hem, the sheer type of fabric, and the pink rosettes piercing the whole thing with romance. also loved her slicked back hair, and minimal jewelry. beauty!
